I think I forgot, (how could I forget little precious puppy) to say that we have a new precious little puppy. She is Elizabeth's puppy and we have had her I think a little over two weeks. It may be three though as time goes so fast. She is black and sooooo adorable. She is doing well with potty training. Max doesn't care for her yet. I hope he learns to like her. She is so cute and playful. She is half rat terrier and half chihuahua. I am glad Bethie has her! And she was free! She and Maxie went to the vet last week and got their shots. They got their heartworm pills today.
A few others things while I am on here. Jess is staying really busy with her full
time job at Turning Point. She helps so many others. She is teaching at IUPUC one class a week and also taking a class to work towards her doctoral degree. Hey Jess, Christmas is just around the corner! Are you going to have all of those beautiful blue lights on your tree this year, or are you going to have other colors? I know it will be beautiful no matter how you decorate it.
Gabe is staying very busy being dad. Friend Kelli is a big help with the kids too! Gabe has quit smoking quite some time ago and I am sooooo very thankful!!
Tuesday is our Blessed Mother Mary's birthday. I truly want to go to Cathy and Russ's house with other dear friends to celebrate her birthday. God willing.... Jake has two tests that day. Dearest Mother Mary, please help Jacob with his tests. Thank you!
I talked to dear Jane Bean earlier today and she is to pick me up Tues. morning to go to Russ and Cathy's. Jacob loves my peach butter! I am sooo glad!!
Ok, it is off to work on applesauce. So long for now. All is well.

Update!
WELLL....... I did get to make peach butter and it was fun doing it the old fashioned way! I made it in my big granite turkey roaster in the oven. It cooked down some and did not make a whole lot, but is a yummy recipe and I got to share some with JoAnn and Rose! I hope to do some pumpkin butter and I make it the same way, the old fashioned way. Of course years ago women would not have had modern stoves such as the one I have, but still...... I like making the butters in my oven!
Do any of you enjoy the Little House on the Prairie books? I know Rose does! I love them especially "The Long Winter"! I am wondering what our upcoming winter will be like. Anyone hoping for lots of snow? Anyone putting up for the winter, (canning, freezing)? I am trying to can what comes my way, and have put up several jars. Currently, I am working on applesauce. I was blest with some apples, and hope to get it canned tomorrow. I enjoy freezing foods too, but there is nothing like home canned foods that are so pretty in the jars, and no thawing necessary!
Jacob is off to a good start with school and I am so thankful!! Beth and I have started school. Trudging along. I say that because she does not enjoy school. I wish I could think of ways to make it funner for her to learn. I must put on my thinking cap and start praying about it. It saddens me that she does not like school :-(
This Tuesday is the kickoff for this year's pro life meetings for the teens. I am sooooo excited and hope Jacob and Bethie can go!!
Well, it is after midnight so I will close now.
May God bless you abundantly,
Kim

Books!
Forgot to write that we got most of Jacob's books for college! We need to get one more. Again, how do the years go so fast?? But God is forever sooooo very good and rightly to be praised!!!!
Peach butter!
No, I did not make it, but my lovely friend Rose did! She is a dear neighbor and is very good to me! She made the delicious peach butter recently, and I am so blest that she shared a jar with us! It is delish!! I bought more peaches yesterday and plan to try my luck at peach butter. I hope it turns out well as dear friend Jo Ann Jones wants two jars of it. Jo Ann I will put special love into it just for you!! Rose has been canning all kinds of stuff and this morning she had already made a big batch of peanut butter fudge before 8 AM. And she is older than I am, (don't worry Rose I am not giving away your age :-)
Well, little Niki is off to a good start in first grade. How can the years go so fast?? He is a big boy now riding the school bus.
Well, it is getting late. I better be getting off here. Will try to update later on how the peach butter turns out. I have been freezing peaches and am freezing some of them in orange juice. My dear online girlfriend Karen Sue, told me about freezing peaches in orange juice. So, I am trying it and will be anxious to try them later :-) Thanks dear Karen Sue!!
God bless all of you and I would love to hear from you! Heading off to bed soon. All is well. Goodnight Moon.
God is sooooooo good!!!!!!!

Precious babies
Peace to you! Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ!
I am thinking tonight of the babies. The babies who are in danger of abortion. Please join me in prayer for the change of heart of all pro choice people. Please pray for a change of heart in those women who are considering abortion. Please pray that they are enlightened to the truth of the precious babies that they are carrying and that if circumstances prevent them from keeping their babies, that they choose adoption, not abortion. Please pray that our congressmen and congresswomen are overloaded with phone calls, letters, and emails asking them to please vote pro life on bills that pertain to human life issues. Please pray for the closing of abortions clinics. If you have an abortion clinic, (Planned Parenthood for one) please consider taking time to peacefully pray in front of the clinic making sure you are not directly on their property. You can hold a pro life sign while you pray if you wish.
God bless you for your efforts and prayers for our precious unborn. Oh and don't forget to pray for the poor women who have had abortions and suffering from them. Please pray for healing for them, and for them to turn to our merciful God. Please pray for the success of the crises pregnancy centers. Okay, lots of prayers. Anything you can do for the pro life cause will reap eternal benefits. THANK YOU!!
In the peace of Christ,
Kim

WOW! Where is the summer going?
July 25, 2009
Hello everyone! Greetings in our dear Lord Jesus Christ!! My goodness where is the summer going?? Well, Jacob graduated and several got to attend his party. I unfortunately was not feeling well that day, but never- the- less, it was a nice and memorable day. Thank you Lord!! I got the scrapbook finished in time for graduation, and am so glad!! Thanks again Sherry for the idea. So glad I got to make it for Jacob!! Our two dear priests Fr. Tom and Monsignor Fred got to stop in at Jacob's party as well as lots of other family and friends. Thank you dear friend Brenda for offering to bring a dish if I needed you to. Thank you Jessica for bringing some food. Thanks to all who got to come or sent a card or gift. For those of you who prayed, thank you so much! Thank you to all of you who thought of us! Jacob took his math placement test at IUPUC this past week, and will be going for orientation before long. So Elizabeth has to start school alone this fall. Boo Hoo :(
We shall truly miss Jacob homeschooling this year. Elizabeth is hoping that her friend Abigail can come and homeschool with us some this year. Since Abby is moving to Ohio soon, (hooray!!) perhaps she will be able to?? Sherry?? We shall see. At least hopefully she can spend a few nights with us. Jonathon is still with us as are Gabe and the kids. Lots of happy times. Crowded, you bet!! Frustration, yeah sometimes, but blessings, yes, Praise God!!
My tomato plants are doing so so. The container plants are doing well with several green tomatoes, but this morning I found one on the ground that had blown off of our deck. The plants were completely out of the container and some torn off or smashed. I put them back the best I could. We shall see what lives out of that container. So far I have gotten to can peaches, plum jam, and strawberry jam this season. So thankful!! I would love to do some tomato juice, but will have to see if I get the tomatoes... I would love to hear from all of you!! Sherry are you excited about moving?? Brenda did you get to can any jam??
I have time to write tonight as it is just Mark, Jacob and myself home tonight. Unusual for a usual house of eight. I wish you all a blessed remainder of summer. God bless, Kim

Easy Peasy Peanut Butter Cookies!
These are so easy and are yummy! I got this recipe from my dear stepmom Jean Ann. Thanks Jean Ann!
1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
Mix and drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
(If I use 400 degrees, my oven tends to burn the bottoms.)
I was told not to double the recipe, but one can make several batches. ENJOY!

Oh my goodness, I am allowed time for another post!! YIPPEE!! Well, some of our tomato plants are in the ground. Three more to go. I see some little tiny plants coming up in my containers. Another YIPPEE!!
For anyone who may visit and not know us well, we are the Schoettmer family. My hubby is Mark. We have our adult son Gabriel living with us currently with his two little ones Nikolas and Madelyn. (Niki and Madi) Jacob is our almost 18 year old, (Yikes how did that happen! He was our 3 lb 5 oz preemie and now is over six feet tall.) Elizabeth lives here too, and she is our 14 year old. She is finishing up her eighth grade school year. Jessica, our 27 year old lives in Greensburg and is a social worker. Jonathon, (our good friend) is currently with us quite a bit, (sometimes with his Grandma who lives fairly closeby) and recently got a job at Walmart. We also have Max our mini Schnauzer. Oh I must mention we have a pet snapping turtle. (don't worry he is not too big yet and is fairly tame so far!) Today when Mark and I came home we were told that we have a new little pet fish for Niki out of the nearby pond. It is in a goldfish bowl. Not sure if it is a minnow or tiny bluegill.
We are a homeschooling family and Jacob is getting ready to graduate. Thank you Sherry for the awesome idea of making a scrapbook for graduation!! I have it started!! I look forward to one day when I can see the one you made for Jonathon. The baby of our family is in Heaven. She is Mary Teresa and we lost her in May of 2005. She passed away while I was still carrying her. We will always miss her, but know she is happy in her Heavenly home and we are thankful for her prayers for us. Thank you baby Mary for your prayers and love.
Ok, I need to run. Maybe next post will be shorter. I shall close with a quote from Saint Bonaventure.
"If I have everything but Christ, I have nothing. If I have nothing but Christ, I have everything." We have a dear friend Fr. Bob Robeson who always has this quote attached to his emails. Blessings everyone!

I am excited to make my very first entry on my blog! Thank you to my dear friend Sherry for making this blog for me! Sherry is such a dear friend and our children are friends too! Well, it is beautiful today!! So pretty and sunny. God is soooooo good and rightly to be praised!!!! Praise the Name of Jesus!!!!! I have especially enjoyed spring this year. How thankful I am for the gift of vision. God is the perfect artist indeed!!!!
I have started some tomatoes by seeds in containers. Oh, I hope they produce. Usually my container tomatoes do not do too well. Last year my container basil and dill did well. I was able to dry some basil, as well as spearmint and peppermint from our yard. My Dad and Jean Ann have some tomato plants for us as well, and I am anxious to get them planted in our yard.
How I wish we had a homestead where we could have a large garden. I long for that day, and know that it is all according to God's will. Maybe we will get our own land and maybe not, but in the meantime I am trying to bloom where I am planted. I do like it here. I can garden some and I enjoy the ponds and ducks. (and the Canadian geese when they stop in to visit:-) I enjoy the big blue herron when he, (or she?) is in the vicinity. Plus we have been here for a long time, (almost 12 years) and I just plain like it! I still miss Sherry, Daniel and their children living close by. Their son Jonathon is staying with us right now, and I am sure enjoying having him around! He is a great fellow and lots of company for Jacob!
Gabe, Niki and Madi are living with us right now as well. Yes, lots of us here in our little double wide, but I love it!! If I just did not have that old chronic fatigue. Wish I had the energy for my grandbabies that I did for my babies. sigh....
Well, I guess I will call it quits for my first entry. God bless you all and I look forward to having visitors to my blog. If any of you have a blog, let me know. I would love to visit. (I love yours Sherry and I had fun reading some on Abby's too!! I will visit them again and cannot wait to do so!!)It may take me awhile though, as sometimes my computer time is practically zilch. But God is good and gives me moments here and there on the computer. Bye for now!
